Petrell: I did read SCPM's reply and I'm not against GOG release per se, quite contrary as, as I mentioned, GOG could do use Open World Survival game or three in it's catalog.

Open World Survival games seem especially susceptible due to their very nature. Disturbingly large number of EA games fall into later two categories. the one(s) that are completed at some point and not ones that are either permanently in development or ones where devs state that this is 1.0 and they are done with it no matter the actual state the game in question is. I just hope GOG picks the right one(s), ie. I did read SCPM's reply and I'm not against GOG release per se, quite contrary as, as I mentioned, GOG could do use Open World Survival game or three in it's catalog. I'm honestly curious why he would think that way. I may be misinterpreting Xanders025's post due to poor grammar but I got the impression from his post that he thought that getting game on GOG would help devs "finish the game" when game's popularity and devs incorporating users suggestions and feature requests seem to have gotten the game to state it's in now (development being 2 years behind scedule and feature creep leading to poor performance and reviews). Arguments about the quality of the game, the developers etc. Skeletonbow: Don't have any answers to anything you said, but as SCPM posted above, the game already has an entry in GOG's store database which indicates it is coming here unless there's some kind of collapse in whatever deal they've got arranged. Just honestly curious how you think coming to GOG would miraculously fix the obvious problems with game's development. I hope I'm wrong obviously but that certainly what it looks like from outside observer point of view. Game seems suffering from almost terminal level of Feature Creep™ that seem to permeate the entire genre (every single game in the genre I know seem to suffer from it, at least to some extend, some worse than others). It does have around 800k owners according to Steamspy but it's over 2 years behind schedule, it's only quarter done and recent reviews give it only Mixed rating.

Petrell: While GOG certainly could use Open World Survival game or several, I'm not entirely sure Stranded Deep is best or even one of the best candidates to pick up. I also do have to ask how exactly would coming on GOG help Stranded Deep reach completion (faster)? It would certainly extend game's user base increasing funds available for the project and give additional source of feedback but wouldn't that just encourage devs to dig themselves deeper into black hole known as Feature Creep™? While GOG certainly could use Open World Survival game or several, I'm not entirely sure Stranded Deep is best or even one of the best candidates to pick up.
